Kolkata, Dec 15 (IANS) West Bengal has been selected for “Krishi Karman Award” for the year 2013-14 by the central government as the best performing state in coarse cereals production, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said Monday.
“I am happy to share with you that our West Bengal has been selected for “Krishi Karman Award” for the year 2013A-14 by the union ministry of agriculture as the best performing state in coarse cereals production,” Banerjee said on her official Facebook page.
The award consists of a trophy, citation and cash amount of Rs.2 Crore.
“This is the third year in a row that Bengal has bagged the prestigious award,” she said.
The chief minister congratulated “all my farmer friends whose dedication has made this achievement possible”.
