Kellogg has appealed to the hearts and minds of South Asians who call Sydney home through new recipes inspired by Kellogg’s Corn Flakes to re-imagine foods like kheer and chiwda, prepared during the Diwali festival period.
MultiConnexions –the new audience marketing agency for Kellogg’s – in conjunction with leading chefs from the Australian Indian community, has created these mouth-watering recipes and sampled them during the Diwali events in Sydney.
Kellogg’s Corn Flakes is not only a tasty breakfast cereal, but has also inspired the creation of delicious desserts and snacks. The ‘Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Kheer’ is a variant of the traditional Kheer, a popular Indian dessert served during festivals and the ‘Kellogg’s Corn Flakes masala mix’ also known as Chiwda, is an all day, anytime snack prepared during Diwali.
To celebrate Diwali with the Indian community, Kellogg introduced these recipes at three key cultural celebrations in Sydney including a Diwali Dinner on Oct 17, Parramasala festival – play Kanjoos on Oct 18 and the Deepavali Fair in Parramatta Park on Oct 19. The ‘Kellogg’s Corn Flakes masala mix’ was sampled by thousands of people at the Deepavali festival and received rave reviews from all those who tasted this snack mix, while the `Kellogg’s Kheer’ was enjoyed by over 300 community leaders and guests at the community Diwali Dinner. People at the festival also had the chance to take home free samples of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes and lots of goodies as Diwali gifts.
“Diwali is such a wonderful celebration of all the good things that life has to offer. We wanted to participate in these festivities and the best way of doing this was through all of the favourite foods that we all enjoy,” said Janine Brooker, senior brand manager, Kellogg Australia.
