Bangalore, Sep 15 (IANS) Hitesh Joshi emerged winner with 29 points in the 0-5 handicap category on the final day of the Toyota Karnataka Golf Festival at the KGA course, here Sunday.
Joshi, who is also the president of Karnataka Golf Association, was the only participant in 0-5 handicap category in India’s largest four-day golf festival.
Arun Murugappan carded 35 points to win in 6-10 handicap category while Vijay Kumar scored 33 to finish as runner-up. Dhananjay Das submitted a 41 to win in 11-15 handicap category while Sandeep Patil slipped out of contention after ending the day with 37 points.
Ramegowda claimed victory in the 16-20 handicap category with 37 points and Ajay Kumar Reddy matched his scores but lost in the count back of back nine to finish runner-up.
The winner of 21-24 handicap category was Aditya Goyal with 36 points while R.P. Kumar came second with 35 points.
Five winners in each category who have booked their berth for the World Golfers Championship to be held in Durban, South Africa from Nov 1-8 and their names will be declared Monday after calculating the scores of the winners of four days.
