Rakshabandhan celebration organised by Flemington Local Area Command this year has helped in strengthening confidence of the Indian Community in Police.
‘The event had three main objectives — to acknowledge Police and all for protecting the general community, to bridge the gap between police and the Indian Community so that public gain confidence in police activities as well as not be afraid to go to police when required, and to generate awareness that Police is always with them 24×7.’
Rakhi is tied to anybody whom you trust with protecting you. Giving a whole new meaning to the festival of Rakshabandhan, Hindu Council of Australia visited the Auburn Police Station to tie Rakhis to the police to iterate their trust in the force. Tying a Rakhi to someone signifies that you trust the wearer of the Rakhi to protect you. According to Hindu Council of Australia Rituals like Rakhi, helps ease out various societal strains, induce fellow-feeling, channels of expression, give us an opportunity to rework on our roles as human beings and most importantly, bring joy in our mundane lives.
Thisevent not only aspired to strengthen the bond between Flemington Local Area Command and Indian Community but also extended the message to all members of the community to commit to protect each other and the society.
