A new plan for multiculturalism in NSW has been announced by Minister for Citizenship and Communities Victor Dominello which will see the Community Relations Commission of NSW become Multicultural NSW.
Geoff Lee MP, Member for Parramatta, welcomed the announcement, which will bring with it a revitalised grants program with a simpler process for application.
“Some key reforms will help improve employment opportunities and recognition of qualifications for skilled migrant’s as well developing initiatives to combat racism and discrimination” Geoff said
“Multi-culturalism is key to our success in Parramatta, as we are one of the nation’s most diverse communities with over 50% of the population born overseas, as well as over 11% with Indian ancestry,” Geoff added.
