Rockdale City’s Living Laneways program is set to revive the town centre with a series of themed markets offering visitors a unique insight into the vibrant multicultural diversity of the city.
Council has entered into a partnership with the operator of Now & Then Markets to establish a series of themed markets in King Lane and King Street Place.
The Handmade Market on Saturday 19 July will offer:
• Handmade produce
• Handmade craft
• Art installations
• Live music
• Pottery and clay-making
• Woodcarving
• Dumpling making
• Children’s entertainment
Other Saturday themed markets this year are Baby & Kids Market (9 August); Home & Garden Market (13 September); Second hand/Vintage Market (25 October); Fashion Market (8 November); Christmas Market (4 December).
In December Living Laneways presented a Christmas program of music and dining which was well received by the community and local business.
The monthly markets continue this initiative to turn town centre laneways into creative, pedestrian friendly spaces with shopping, dining, music and opportunities to showcase local artists.
Australia Post is a Gold Sponsor of the Living Laneways Markets.
