Rreports have been rife from a past few months that Shah Rukh Khan will team up with Anurag Kashyap on the venture, Alwyn Kalicharan.
For the same, Anurag has reportedly met the superstar a few times at his home in Bandra (W), as well as in London (that meeting was apparently arranged by Anushka Sharma).
But ask the film-maker about this and he says, “I’ve met Shah Rukh regarding my cameo in Happy New Year (director Farah Khan’s upcoming movie; HNY) and not for any film offer.”
For the uninitiated, Anurag — in addition to musician Vishal Dadlani — will be seen in a cameo in Happy New Year that also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone. A few days ago, Farah had tweeted, “What Anurag kashyap n @VishalDadlani doing in#HNY is … “na dance na acting na pose…..
Sirf EXPOSE!! (sic).”
Currently, Anurag is busy with his Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka-starrer period flick. “How many films am I supposed to make at one time? Let me first finish my current one. Then, I will think of other projects,” says Anurag, who is also busy with his first TV series (he is the creative director), that stars Amitabh Bachchan and Sarika.
As for Alwyn Kalicharan, nearly a decade ago, Anurag had reportedly got Anil Kapoor on board to play the lead. But at that time, the thriller had to be shelved reportedly due to financial constraints.
Anurag, on his part, will also be seen acting in his upcoming co-production that has Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role.
Karan Johar’s free-act for Anurag Kashyap (Report by Dibyojyoti Baksi) Film-maker Karan Johar, who is reportedly playing a negative character in Anurag Kashyap’s next, was so kicked about his role that he refused to accept any remuneration for the part.
An insider from the production house reveals that while the makers pressed for him to be paid a fee, Karan refused to accept even a penny. Vikas Bahl, one of the producers of the film, says, “Yes, he has not taken any remuneration, because this film is his ‘passion project’. I think the full team will always be indebted to him.”
As a token of appreciation, the source adds that the makers presented Karan with a cheque of Rs. 11.
Bahl adds, “We are thankful to Karan for agreeing to do the film. He is absolutely fantastic in his role and we don’t have words to describe how proud we are that he chose to debut as an actor with this film
