A benchmark index of Indian equities was trading flat at 21.81 points or 0.10 percent up during the pre-noon trade Tuesday.
Good buying was observed in the oil and gas and auto sectors while selling pressure was seen in banking index (bankex) sector.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 21,177.77 points, was trading at 21,164.82 points in the pre-noon session, up 21.81 points or 0.10 percent from the last trading day’s close at 21,143.01 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 21,230.88 points, and a low of 21,122.68 points during the trade so far.
The S&P BSE oil and gas index went up by 51.05 points and auto index increased by 36.85 points. However, bankex fell by 15.99 points.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading flat at 8.90 points or 0.14 percent up at 6,300 points.
