Nominations for the 2014 Premier’s Awards have been announced.
Premier Colin Barnett said the number of nominations submitted for this year’s Premier’s Awards illustrated the level of commitment to public service delivery and excellence in public sector management.
“A wide range of nominations covering metropolitan and regional areas were received from State Government agencies, local government authorities and public universities across all seven Premier’s Awards categories,” Mr Barnett said.
“This year’s nominees continue to demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation, collaboration and leadership in the public sector with projects that could make a real difference in their local communities.”
Nominated projects will undergo further assessment in how they further the agency’s mission; demonstrate dynamic and ethical practices or solutions; positive social economic and/or environment impact; and utilise a comprehensive evaluation framework.
Finalists will be announced following the conclusion of all judging, with the overall winner and category winners to be announced at the twilight ceremony on Wednesday November 5, 2014 in the Office of the Premier and Cabinet rooms.
“The Premier’s Awards are key to celebrating and recognising the value of work occurring in the WA public sector,” the Premier said.
As ambassadors, category winners and finalists, promote the diverse and collaborative bodies of work undertaken in government and leading industry standards. Ambassadors are present at various events in the forthcoming year and are involved with mentoring emerging leaders.
