Mumbai, May 12
The famous Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat will be seen in the dress designed by Indian designer Manish Tripathi’s appearance at the forthcoming Cannes International Film festival.
On the micro-blogging site Twitter, the actress shared the sketch of the outfit.
“My outfit sketch for Cannes 2014 by uber talented Indian designer Manish Tripathi,” she tweeted along with a sketch, which depicts a flowing white lehenga teamed with an elaborate and stylised blouse.
Mallika, who has been a regular face at the Cannes International Film festival since the past few years, later this month, will inaugurate the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Pavilion during the gala.
CII, for the twelfth consecutive year, will co-ordinate the participation of various Indian representatives at the Cannes Film Market May 14-23.
She will also be part of the inaugural session “Indian Cinema: Opportunities & Synergies with Global Cinema”, which will have speakers like Arun Kumar Singh (Indian ambassador to France) and Ashok Amritraj (Hollywood producer and chairman, CII Cannes Initiative).
The Cannes International Film Festival (French: Le Festival International du Film de Cannes or just Festival de Cannes), is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from around the world.
Mallika, who has worked in films like “Murder” and “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”, is not the only Indian name who believes in promoting Indian designer on international red carpet events. Earlier, Sonam Kapoor also said that she makes sure to add an Indian element to her look whenever she travels abroad.
