Amman, May 12 (IANS) Jordan and Saudi Arabia signed $232 million grant agreements Sunday, the state media reported.
Jordanian Minister for Planning and International Cooperation Ibrahim Saif said the amount will be used to finance projects in the field of water, irrigation and infrastructure, Xinhua reported.
The grant is part of $1.25 billion grant that Saudi Arabia pledged to extend to Jordan in 2011 over a period of five years, the minister added.
Jordanian Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour stressed the importance of the grant to the development of Jordan, especially in light of the difficult political and economic conditions in the region.
