NSW Premier Mike Baird has paid tribute to veteran newsman Harry Potter, who died last night at the age of 73.
“Harry Potter was one of the true greats of Sydney journalism, who dedicated his working life to the profession and in the process revolutionised crime reporting,” Mr Baird said.
“Harry was a passionate and committed journalist, known for his integrity and his compassion towards victims of crime.
“He was a fantastic mentor to young journalists and he was also highly regarded by Members of Parliament and senior Police officers.
“Harry has left an incredible mark on Australian journalism and his legacy will be enduring.
“I offer my deepest condolences to Harry’s friends, his colleagues and to his wife Katrina and children, Tim, Nick, Elisa and Jack.”
