35The NSW Government’s $22 million station refresh program is now underway at 19 key stations that include a deep clean, improved station security and less clutter on platforms.

“As one of the key stations on the network, I am thrilled to see Parramatta Station included in this program,” Geoff said.

“We will see the work being done to revitalise and energize the station, the busiest outside the Sydney CBD.”

The work includes:
– Deep clean, painting and refresh of customer toilet facilities
– New seating, additional bins
– Improvements to station security, with improved lighting and additional Help points where needed
– Removal of redundant equipment and general de-cluttering
– Improved landscaping
– Pigeon proofing to ensure general cleanliness around station Other recent commuter wins include the Opal Card being rolled out across the Western Line, with the bus services also under way.

Customers have already registered more than 200,000 free Opal cards to take advantage of cheaper fares and the convenience of never have to queue for tickets again.
