SYNOPSIS:‘Mahabharat’ is one of the major Sanskrit epics of ancient India. It all started with Kauravas and Pandavas, the first cousins fighting for the supremacy of Hastinapur.

The fight leads to a game where Yudhishtir loses his kingdom & the wife of Pandavas (Draupadi) is insulted by Duryodhan where he tells his brother Dushasan to undress draupadi in front of Rajya Sabha, but she is finally saved by Krishna and as per Yudhistir’s words Pandavas with draupadi leaves for a 13 years sentence of living in woods.

On their return Duryodhan refuses to give back Pandava’s their kingdom which leads to the epic Kurukshetra war, where Pandava’s defeat Kaurva’s and win over back their kingdom.

OUR VERDICT: ‘Mahabharat 3D’ is based on the Epic Tale of Mahabharat, which has narrative of Kurukshetra war between Kaurva’s and Pandva’s . The narrative is kept unchanged and depicted as the history has witnessed this mammoth war, which has the lessons and devotional message for human kind. The Kurukshetra war happens for the fight against the rights for the throne and kingdom between the brothers Kaurva’s and Pandava’s and it reaches to justice when Lord Krishna comes on Pandava’s side and makes them win this war for their rights.

As this ancient epic tale has been seen and witnessed by our audience many times before in the form of films and television serials, still this one passes out the clear message of what the history has witnessed this war for the rights and justice of human kind in short. The interesting part in this narrative is its animated characters which are given looks of our Bollywood stars and also voices are rendered by them. Bhishma Pita is Played by Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun is played by Ajay Devgn, Karna by Anil Kapoor, Duryodhan by Jackie Shroff, Bheem by Sunny Deol, Yudhistir by Manoj Bajpayee, Shakuni by Anupam Kher and Draupadi by Vidya Balan.

The animated characters with the looks of these stars and their voice have impact and make you entertain because you can relate to the characters and their voices. Although animation work is reasonably done and VFX is also just fine as it cannot match up or compete with a Hollywood animated film. Director Amaan Khan does a fair job and maintains the authencity and genuineness of the tale, Music by Rajendra Shiv is okay.
