Applications are now open to find the State’s next training champions.
Training and Workforce Development Minister Kim Hames today launched the 2014 WA Training Awards, which recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of apprentices, trainees and vocational students, as well as the contribution made by trainers, training organisations and employers.
There are 14 categories in this year’s awards including WA Apprentice of the Year, WA Trainer of the Year, WA Training Initiative and WA Employer of the Year.
“The WA Training Awards, now in their 20th year, are an important initiative in celebrating the hard work and accomplishments of those in the training sector,” Dr Hames said.
“It can also be a rewarding journey for applicants, allowing them to enhance their skills and confidence while also challenging them to be the best that they can be.”
The award winners will be announced at a presentation event in September and will share in prizes totalling more than $90,000.
Applications for this year’s awards close at 5pm on Friday May 9, 2014.
Winners may also be eligible to compete against the nation’s best in the Australian Training Awards later this year.
