STORY, SCREENPLAY AND DIALOGUES:
Writers Aditya Chopra and Vijay Krishna Acharya comes up with the 3rd installment of ‘Dhoom’ series, which again has the plot of robbery but this time with a backdrop of a revenge story behind the scenario. Since the previous parts were well appreciated because of its stylizing and great stunts, so this one had more expectation, but it doesn’t comes up as per the expectation, the narrative is serious and sober rather than being a fast paced thriller and entertainer. Love track is missing in the narrative and comes up with a very little scope that too in the second half, the writers succeeds in maintaining the suspense stuff in the film, which is finely presented and hold your attention for more in the second half. The later part is more strong involving emotions, drama and high pitch stunts. Dialogues are good and impactful in few sequences.

PERFORMANCES:
Performance wise Mr Perfectionist of Bollywood Aamir Khan comes up with his yet another finest performance, but is let down because of loose scripting and liberties taken in the film. He suits well in the antagonist character and does it with lots of conviction, audience relates to his character and gets involved in it completely forgetting the loopholes in the narrative. Katrina looks sizzling and hot but with a very limited scope to prove her acting skills, she does adds up the glamour in the film, but the audiences are left out with wanting more of her, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are as usual in the reprising characters of Jai and Dixit. Tabret Bethell as Victoria adds up to the required glamour in the film and has done her part well. Jackie Shroff in his special performance role is fine.

DIRECTION, CINEMATOGRAPHY AND EDITING:Director ‘Vijay Krishna Acharya’ carries the load of taking further the Dhoom Franchise on his shoulders, but somehow loses the grip of the film at many places. Though the film is well stylized with breath taking stunts and VFX work, but low in entertainment values as compared to previous parts. It’s Aamir, who’s the centre of attraction in the film and holds your attention throughout. Presentation is good with well crafted characters. The suspense and the thrill part is handled well by the director and gives the necessary punch to the audience. Second half is more engaging and gripping but the length could have been edited more. Cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee is excellent and he has captured the Chicago locales very well. Editing by Ritesh Soni is Good and sharp, but the length could have been easily reduced by 15 to 20 minutes.

ACTION, BACKGROUND SCORE AND MUSIC:Action by Sham Kaushal and Conrad Palmisano is well choreographed, the effects used in the bike chasing sequences and the modification of the bikes changing its shape and looks are very impressive, especially in the scene where Aamir’s bike is turned into an jetski and again turns into an bike was breath taking.

CHOREOGRAPHY, LOCATIONS AND PRODUCTION VALUE:Choreography by Bosco Ceasar & Dein Perry is good, especially in the song ‘Malang Malang’ and ‘Kamli’. Locations are very good. Production values are of a very high standard.

OUR VERDICT: Overall ‘Dhoom 3’ has its entertainment values but to its limit, don’t expect it with its previous parts, but go for its slick and stylized stunt sequences, and especially for Aamir Khan and his performances. The film has opened to packed houses and keeping its fame and Aamir’s fan following on mind it will have a good weekend collections.
