There was a ban on Bollywood films release in Pakistan, but now ‘Dhoom 3’ becomes the first film to release there after the ban.
An order was passed by the court that no Indian film will be censored or released in Pakistan. The order was issued in response to a petition filed by TV talk show host Mubashir Lucman. “Khan’s have a huge fan following in Pakistan and ‘Dhoom 3’ is specially a content that will be liked by 8 to 80 years of age. D3 is the biggest film of this year and the hype around the project is unprecedented. While the marketing has followed ‘less is more’ formula, the desire to consume the film is all time high. Pakistan is a very important and special market for us and we are delighted that Dhoom 3 will release as planned to coincide with its global release date Friday 20th.The film was cleared without a single cut by the Sindh censor board and we’re thrilled about that. We wish to extend our gratitude to the authorities for their support to ensure that business for Producers as well as the local Pakistani Distributors and Exhibitors is protected, “Avtar Singh Panesar, the Vice President International Operations said.
