Rome, March 19 (IANS) Roma captain Francesco Totti has hoped his side could win the Italian Serie A football title next season.
The 37-year-old conceded Tuesday that their chances to grab the Scudetto, as the Serie a is known, this season are almost over, reports Xinhua.
“The Scudetto? It’s a real long shot now. It’s 99 percent gone,” he said.
“But next year we believe we can win it, though to do that no one can leave, including Rudi Garcia. I hope that Pjanic can stay, he is a player of great quality,” he said.
“We are a very united group, like the one in 2001 when we won the Scudetto,” he said.
The Roma veteran wished he could play the upcoming World Cup with Antonio Cassano.
“I would take Cassano to the World Cup. Alongside myself? If I am fit and well, why not?” he said.
