Actors Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s song, Locha-E-Ulfat, from Abhishek Varman’s 2 States, which is out now, has a particular scene which has been shot at IIM-A (Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad), a first for a Bollywood film.
Because the novel on which the movie is based on is set in the college, the makers managed for the necessary permission from the institute. Another difficulty faced by the actors was the unfavourable climate. It was summer and the weather was just too hot.
“It was important to capture life in that city and not cheat by shooting in, say Mumbai, and passing it off as Ahmedabad. The local elements — people and buses — add to the realistic element of the song,” says a crew member. 2 States releases on April 18.
