Job Opportunities Soar in Queensland’s Aged Care Sector

Queenslanders seeking new employment opportunities may find a solid career path in the state’s rapidly growing aged care sector. According to Samantha Adams, Program Manager – Vocational Education and Training from one of Australia’s largest employment services providers MAX, Queensland will see an extraordinary increase in the demand for aged care workers over the next 30 years. In most parts of the state, aged care workers are needed immediately.

For individuals who want to start a new career, now is a great time for training and job prospects. Australia’s aged population is set to triple in the next three decades, and as the population increases, so does the demand for aged care workers, especially those who can provide individual support.

While some people feel overwhelmed by the idea of doing a training course, courses like those offered by MAX are suitable for all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds. Individuals do not need any prior work or study experience in the field, and a range of great supports are in place for those needing extra help. Samantha reports that students who complete vocational placements in the Certificate III Individual Support (Aged Care) course in Queensland often gain employment shortly after graduating.

“The industry needs thousands of people willing to learn new skills and help people as they age. For organisations like MAX, flexible (blended) course delivery means that people can study online and in face-to-face settings, which we know is helpful for people with other commitments, such as young families,” Samantha added.

Queenslanders interested in completing their certification in the aged care sector are encouraged to call the MAX Solutions RTO directly on 1800 021 560. Culturally appropriate opportunities and supports are also available for indigenous applicants.
