Man shot dead by bikers in Delhi

12New Delhi, June 5 (IANS) A 55-year-old man was Thursday shot dead in Delhi by two unidentified assailants riding a bike, police said.

Om Prakash Oberoi, sales executive at an ad agency, was attacked in north Delhi’s Subhash Park area around 11.30 a.m. He had gone to deposit a cheque at a bank.

An eyewitness told police that as he got down from the auto rickshaw, two people approached him and opened fire. Oberoi received two bullet wounds and the assailants fled from the scene.

The auto rickshaw driver took him to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Oberoi is survived by his wife and two sons.

Police have not been able to ascertain the motive for the attack nor have they established the identity of the assailants as yet.

Police have not ruled out the possibility of personal enmity behind the attack.
